I saved a life today...My own....
I have given up smoking and decided to give my lungs some loving. For to long I have puffed away and the effects are already making me like a prune.
For those of you who do smoke, you will all know that its a lot harder than just 'quitting'. The social smoker, who has the odd one when there out with the group. The chain smoker, who has a cigarette in their hand more than anything else.
The list if different types of 'smokers' go on, whatever you want to call yourself. At the end of the day, if you put a cigarette up to your mouth either one a week or once a minute, then you are just a smoker, there is no other name for yourself.
You have to want to quit and be ready to . If you are forced to and don't want to give up, then you have less of a chance of succeeding.
I was told by one of my friends (who quit three weeks ago) to imagine that I am going out on Friday night. I have a shower, put on my favorite creams and perfume. I do my hair and slip into that new expensive dress and give my teeth a nice little bath as well. After all that time and effort, she then tells me to light up a cigarette so that my perfume now becomes the stench of smoke, my clothes reek, and I may as well have used a cigarette as my toothbrush (vivid image isn't it?)
It is only the begining, and it is going to be a long road ahead, but at least I will live a longer life.
I love my lungs
<3 be happy Xo
